Software prototypes in the project were built to facilitate the development of collaborative video tools. These prototypes are documented in this website, under the experimental productions pages. In the final year of the project, the software was packaged into the Mediaspaces Video Tools bundle.

Mediaspaces Video Tools includes two Zope products: ArkiVideo and ArkiVideoTools. It is a video experiment, a proof of concept, with the purpose of providing a Python wrapper for Apple Quick Time based video editing tools developed with C programming language and used for the variety of experimental web based video editing productions during the Mediaspaces project. With Mediaspaces Video Tools it is possible to upload QuickTime movies as ArkiVideos to a Zope site, cut clips from those movies and make a montage of the clips.

These tools are provided "as is" under the MIT License.

Download and installation

Mediaspaces Video Tools bundle includes the ArkiVideoTools and the ArkiVideo products. In addition one needs ExtFile and Photo products and Python Imaging Library (or ImageMagick) and Zope server.

Binaries are only provided for Mac PPC. Users of Mac Intel and Windows need to compile the source code of video tools.
